Feedback to the Vice-Chancellor, NBU
The Vice-Chancellor,
NBU.
Sub.: Seminar organized by the NBU Alumni Association on 21.8.11 in commemoration of the Goden Jubilee Year of NBU.
Sir,
With reference to the above, I am to inform you of the following  observations were   made by the alumni of NBU who were present  in the Seminar entitled "Performance of NBU during the past 50 years : A Review”.
1.        The participants were unanimous that NBU has made outstanding progress in the areas of academic, research, extension   and  social outreach  activities since its inception in May, 1962 in spite of acute constraints of resources and the disadvantages of location in a remote backward region.  The contribution of NBU is not limited to its territorial jurisdiction only but is distributed all across the country and abroad depending on   presence of its alumni. In respect of North Bengal, NBU has contributed immensely to grooming  the youth to skilled  resources who have been the largest factor in realizing  economic  growth in North Bengal  in primary/secondary/tertiary education,  service sectors, agriculture, small scale industry, trade, business etc. and its over-all socio-cultural strength.  The vision and leadership of the present Vice-Chancellor for rapid development of NBU and weed out instances of  corruption were also deeply appreciated by all.
2.       Observations :
(i)                   Training Centre for Administrative Services ( IAS, IFS, IRS, IPS etc. and WBCS )  should be established.
